The legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan is returning to Universal for his next film after parting ways with Warner Bros. in 2020. The project is slated for an IMAX release on July 17, 2026. Following his supporting role in Oppenheimer, Matt Damon is in talks to star.
As on his previous movie about the father of the atom bomb, Nolan will direct, write the screenplay and produce alongside his longtime partner and wife Emma Thomas. For Matt Damon, this marks his third collaboration with the renowned filmmaker after Oppenheimer and his pivotal but brief role in Interstellar. This places Damon among an elite group of actors who have worked together with Nolan multiple times, including the likes of Cillian Murphy, Christian Bale and Sir Michael Caine.
