Who am I?
My name is Moritz Denkmayr and I’m currently studying Media Management at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten, Austria. Being an university student is quite often the reason why I’m not regularly updating my website. Studying and working on projects just takes up a lot of time. But if I have enough spare time and energy left, I’m trying to update Pixel Herald at least twice a week.
One of the most important facts an about me side should include is probably the reason for doing what I’m doing. Let me try to explain: For as long as I can remember, movies, TV shows and games have been an integral part of my life. I vividly remember watching old Disney movies with my older brother or playing my first Pokemon game on the Nintendo DS at the age of five. Turning on the TV the same time every day to watch my favourite show became a ritual for child me. But that was just the beginning. My media reception only increased in the following years and so did my passion. I started getting more interested in the lore of my favourite movies or games and most importantly, how these things were made. As a film enthusiast, my brother played and still plays a vital part in fueling my interest, my passion. All in all I have to say, these three mediums shaped me into the person I am today. The emotional stories you can tell, the multi-faceted characters that come to life stuck with me, inspired me. That’s probably the reason why I chose my studies and for sure the reason why I started Pixel Herald.
