The Please Don’t Destroy trio splits up, but will continue working on projects together outside of SNL. Ben Marshall joins the show’s featured cast for the upcoming season and Martin Herlihy will remain a writer at SNL, while John Higgins is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Since joining the SNL writing staff in 2021, the Please Don’t Destroy boys became known for their often self-ironic sketches with celebrity hosts like Taylor Swift or Timothée Chalamet. Formed during their time as NYU students in 2017, the trio started out with live performances in New York. On social media they quickly gained popularity by posting sketches during the early days of the Covid-pandemic.
